Inc 5000 Regionals: ESP is the 42nd Fastest Growing Company in California

Energy Service Partners Ranks No. 42 on Inc. Magazine’s List of California’s Fastest-Growing Private Companies

LOS ANGELES, CA – March 16, 2021 – Energy Service Partners, a solar installation company, today announced its No. 42 ranking on this year’s Inc. 5000 Regionals list for the state of California. In its second year, the Inc. 5000 Regionals list is the most prestigious ranking of the fastest-growing state or region-based private companies and an extension of the larger Inc. 5000, which lists the 5,000 fastest-growing private companies in the nation. This regional list makes up the most successful companies within the California economy’s most dynamic segment of independent small businesses.

“We learned a lot last year,” said Energy Service Partners Founder & CEO Gary Gietz. “We never anticipated the challenges that started in March with the pandemic, but we proved to be intellectually resilient, adapting to an unpredictable time. This resulted in company sales and completed installations doubling year-over-year. This year [in 2021] I’m projecting company growth at twice the rate from last year, based on operational efficiencies we’ve put in place to keep projects on time for happy homeowners. I could not be more impressed or pleased with the caliber and quality of the people who have chosen to work at Energy Service Partners.”

The companies on the Inc. 5000 Regionals list are chosen for their fast growth across all industries in California. Between 2017 and 2019, these private companies had an average growth rate of 535 percent and, in 2019 alone, they employed more than 40,000 people and added nearly $7 billion to the California economy. Companies based in major metro areas, including Los Angeles, the Bay Area, and San Diego, brought in the highest revenue overall.

Today, Energy Service Partners employs over 150 people, and additionally has an incredible network of independent sales representatives and organizations.

“I’m really pleased but in no way complacent with where we’ve come from,” said Gietz. “We are a company measured not in customer satisfaction, rather customer “wow’s”. We’re excited about our company momentum and we’re unrelenting in our desire to be the best solar company in America.”

Complete results of this year’s Inc. 5000 Regionals California winners, including company profiles and an interactive database that can be sorted by industry, metro area, and other criteria, can be found at https://www.inc.com/inc5000/regionals/california.

“This list proves the power of companies in California no matter the industry,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “The impressive revenues and growth rates prove the insight and diligence of CEOs and that these businesses are here to stay.”

About Energy Service Partners
Founded in 2015 to provide residential solar installation services for a growing network of salespeople operating as independent Authorized Dealers, the company has installed solar on over 15,000 homes across California. Through decades of combined construction experience, ESP has developed a rapid process that averages under 25 days from contract to project realization. As an EPC firm (engineering, procurement & construction), ESP built technology to serve people at every step of the process, boosting the efficiency of our partners both internal and external.
In the last year, ESP installed solar on nearly 4,000 homes, providing financial savings to those homeowners by reducing their utility bills significantly. On average, ESP completed installs on between 250 and 300 homes per month in 2020, despite COVID-related setbacks to construction timelines and delays from municipal shutdowns. The goal is to reach 1,000 installs per month in 2021 through increased efficiency and a broader footprint through our expanding sales network.

More about Inc. and the Inc. 5000 Regionals
Methodology
The 2021 Inc. 5000 Regional are ranked according to percentage revenue growth when comparing 2017 and 2019. To qualify, companies must have been founded and generating revenue by March 31, 2017. They had to be U.S.-based, privately held, for profit, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies—as of December 31, 2019. (Since then, a number of companies on the list have gone public or been acquired.) The minimum revenue required for 2017 is $100,000; the minimum for 2019 is $1 million. As always, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons.
